Sojourner King

Sojourner KingSojourner King started her career as a civil litigator.  Ms. King provided defense side representation for some of the world’s largest insurers, real estate developers and commercial entities. Ms. King represented clients in mass torts, asbestos, environmental and premises liability claims. She also assisted clients with insurance issues related to 9/11.

Since 2008, Ms. King has counseled law firms and corporations on electronic discovery, information governance and litigation preparedness. Ms. King partners with in-house counsel and information technology teams to develop strategic approaches to all aspects of the electronic discovery reference model; including developing, implementing and executing discovery strategies in complex domestic and international matters. Ms. King has acted as electronic discovery counsel to some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, investment banks and Fortune 100 companies in both Canada and the U.S.

Ms. King is also very involved in pro bono efforts. She represented homeowners who lost their homes because of the subprime mortgage crisis and was recognized for three consecutive years by the Legal Aid Society of New York for her outstanding pro bono service in the groundbreaking “Stop and Frisk” case against the New York City Housing Authority.  Ms. King currently volunteers with Pro Bono Law Ontario.

Ms. King started her practice at a mid-sized New York City firm.  Thereafter, she practiced at two large New York City law firms until her return to Toronto in 2013 where she practiced on Bay Street.  Ms. King brings a breadth of local and global experience to her practice and always focuses on obtaining the best possible results for her clients.

Osama Saleemi

Osama Saleemi is currently a Student at Law at Sojourner King Law. Mr. Saleemi graduated from law school at the University of Surrey, in the United Kingdom, which gave him knowledge and insight into a different jurisdiction.

Through his education and experience at Sojourner King Law, he has developed the skills to conduct legal research and draft documents. Mr. Saleemi’s experience and knowledge allow him to work under pressure and better serve clients.
In his spare time, Mr. Saleemi enjoys traveling and watching Chelsea F.C

 

Brandon Singh

Brandon Singh

Brandon Singh is a Paralegal at Sojourner King Law. Mr. Singh first started at the firm as a Paralegal student and then worked as Law Clerk before holding his current title. Through his learned experience at Sojourner King Law, Brandon has developed the skills necessary to understand the intricacies of the law from different perspectives.

Mr. Singh became licensed as a paralegal by the Law Society of Ontario in 2020. He provides legal services primarily in the areas of landlord-tenant law and Small Claims Court matters. Mr. Singh’s measured approach of providing legal services, allows him to confidently guide clients through every step of their matter.

In his spare time, Mr. Singh enjoys travelling abroad. He is also a musician and enjoys playing the guitar.

Xavier Martells

Xavier Martells is a Law Clerk at Sojourner King Law. Mr. Martells first started at the firm as a Paralegal student and now works as a Law Clerk. He is currently preparing to write his P1 Paralegal Licensing Exam this upcoming year and plans to further his post-secondary education.

Through his experience at Sojourner King Law, Xavier has developed the skills necessary to draft legal documents and conduct legal research. Mr. Martells brings his background knowledge and understanding of rules, statutes, and regulations governing the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice to the team at Sojourner King Law.

In his spare time, Mr. Martells enjoys staying active by working out at the gym and has a love for sports.
